RE: Looking to build a fuel tank
I agree you can build one from brass etc.. but why not just buy a commercial tank?
If you fly inverted you will need a flex tube in the tank and unless you have a screw hatch and gasket it will be non servicable. The only other option is dual pick ups with a ball check valve to prevent air from entering during rolls, but this would mean non pressurised tank.
I realize there are custom planes and special tank applications. But if you chose to build a tank make sure the fuel pickup will always have fuel to prevent engine failure in flight. Now if you never do aileron rolls or go inverted and remain in a vetical position only you might get away with a brass tank. Other wise best of luck.. Jim

RE: Looking to build a fuel tank
Morrise hobbies has thin bladder tanks if your worried about tight aplications. I know wing mounted tanks would be cool but unless your pumping your fuel it just isn't pracical, couse a cubs scale location is were a model keeps it's fuel right behind the firewall
a copper tank would cuase electrolisis in the tank. Needs to be steel or tin, mic welded
