I just found a website called chiefaircraft.com. They are selling the subject transmitter and receiver (FUTK77) for $289. Has anyone done business with this company? Thats almost $100 cheaper than Tower sells the same transmitter for!

Do you know anywhere online with a price for that transmitter that is comparable to $289? It seems unheard of.

They are excellent, I wouldn't hesitate to use them. The last 2 years I have made several orders for gas engines, and they ship well and fast. One of the best, they actually pack their items well, not just a few airbags thrown in a box like Tower.......

Keep in mind that the extra $100 at tower gets you a 4 digital servo complete flight pack that alone costs $170.

FUTK77 is a Futaba number and is only the TX and RX. It comes with no servos. It is packaged specifically that way for that product number and the FUTK77 at Tower is $384.99. Check it out.

Chief is a reputable company (I've bought from them in the past). I just can't figure out how there can be $95 difference in price. Is Tower not advertising the correct product? Did Chief get a volume discount? Enquiring minds want to know.

Chief is good, but I find this odd. A while back Chief had a bit of falling out with Great planes. Looks like they got their differences resolved. They are selling Futaba adn Great Planes again. Interesting.

Chief has always been considerably lower priced than Tower. More on some items than others. Many online shops and LHS beat Tower prices. Lot of people just assumes since Tower is so big, they are the lowest price. Not so!

one thing about Chief is that if you sign up for their "specials" email at the top of the website, you save even more money that the advertised prices. when I got my Saito 72 I think their website said it was 225, but the special price in the email was 205.

Chief,,, well I can tell you they are there for you with a good price when your hand is out with money in it, but when the going get's ruff they wont call you back (right Dana), and they wont tell you anything unless you ask, so you better know what your buying, Chief will buy special colored plans you can't get anywhere else (yet they wont tell your this when you buy it), so you could get stuck with a plane you can't get parts for, as I did...

I thought the one at Cheif was TX only. The Tower one also has the RX W/crystal and switch.
