Default Lettering on Monokote

Anybody know the easiest way to put some scripting on my plane? I am building a 4*40.

Say, i wanted to put "Spirit of St. Louis" (I dont) on the nose of the plane. Are there any decals that piece together as script?

Is the only way to create some sort of template using a PC? I want to put a name on my plane.

You can contact a sign shop in your area that can cut vinyl for signs and take them your monokote. They can computer cut your monokote with a vinyl cutter. That's what I used to cut the graphics for my GP Slow Poke in the attached picture (btw, the graphics on this plane are all monokote. no vinyl).

If you don't want to contact a sign maker, you can do it yourself. Use your computer/printer to print out what you want to cut. Turn your monokote over and trace what you want on the backside of the monokote and then cut it out.

Hope this helps.

How much that cost?

I lost a relative recently, and his initials were PC. I wanted to script into my plane "Very PC" Nothing fancy.

The easiest way is to contact Bart @ Die-Hard Graphics.
Tell him what you want and what size, color, etc.
He'll cut the Vinyl and send it out to you. From there it's pretty much "peel 'n Stick". Fuel Proof too!!!

Tell him Steve sent ya! (he will probably charge you "List + 40% with that endorsement) LOL
Here is some of his work on our planes:

I cut them myself. I run a vinyl cutting business. If you want to PM me I can get you taken care of.

There is another option. Scan into the computer (or draw what you want in one of the many programs available - Corel Draw, MS Paint, etc ). Then print it out on decal paper. The paper averages $1.00 per sheet. http://www.beldecal.com/

Another option is to cut them out of the monokote and use the windex method to put them on, but Kens would look so much better

Flyboy,
thanks. My graphics on the Slow poke are all monokote, and I used windex to apply them.

Does windex work with the goldberg films too? I have only used monokote but was going to try the goldberg stuff on my edge.

Having Vinyl cut is the way to go but if you can cut them out by adding paper to the back.

-Use a good set of ,
-draw a reverse image on brown paper
-spray lightly with spray adhesive
-tac the paper to the back of the plastic part you remove from the monocat.

With the paper you can cut right through with a descent set of scissors.

I don't know about the Goldberg stuff, however, it DOES NOT WORK on Ultracote. It is a different adhesive formula than MonoKote.
