gas or 4 stroke ?
I'm looking a new engine soon for my Stinson SR-9
I'm a 4 stroke guy for the most part but have considered
(on a rare occasion )getting a gas engine. I have heard
many opinions about them pro and con. but other than
the cost of fuel I can't seem to find any other advantage.
right now I'm leaning toward getting another OS FT-300
What's the story , am I missing something ?

No, your not missing much.....
....just a couple pounds of wieght, a complicated
pumper carb, and some potential magneto problems.
Gas engines are needed for really huge planes, and
the savings on fuel are great. However for "medium"
size planes 10-15 lbs, I stick to the large glow
engines...like the Super Tiger 3000, 3250, and 4500.
They run good, start usually with one flip, put out
mucho power, and are a lot lighter than the weed
wackers. They don't turn a lot of RPM's, and sound
like four strokes in the air.
