RE: Can you Make your own wing jig????
Hi,
I have been using two lengths of threaded rod supported on wood blocks for years, this system works fine for me.
Cheers,
Colin

RE: Can you Make your own wing jig????
I have found that the best way to build a straight wing is:
First: Get a FLAT table I'm not talking Hollow core door, I'm talking more like a thick countertop or butcher block table.
Second: Skip the pins and use weights.
Third: once the ribs, spars, LE and TE are together, make sure the weights are holding it flat against the table, then add the shear webs, and forward and aft sheeting (You will have to move the weights to glue down the aft edge of the Fwd sheeting, so do that last and apply the weights again while the glue sets)
In all the times I have used this method, I have gotten excellent results.

Ditto!
I find I can build faster and just as straight with a good building board. Haven't used a jig in 20 some odd years.
