However, it sounds like you're looking for an expanded scale voltmeter, as is used for receiver batteries. I don't know of one that has a scale for 6 cell batteries.
You can check Red Scholefield's Battery Clinic web page, to find out how to make a load voltmeter setup for your particular application.
Or, you can use a discharger / charger unit that measures mAh (a "cycler"), to determine the condition of your 6 cell battery.
Good luck,

Okay, so you made the decision to use a nonstandard battery on a receiver.... I'd be interested in what went into that decision.
I am not aware of loaded voltmeters available with which to check your 6 cell receiver battery. I recommended before that you look over Red's treatment of measuring amperage and current, and create a method to satisfy your needs. I'll stand by that, except now I'll suggest that you revisit the decision to use a 6 cell battery on your receiver.
Best wishes,
Dave Olson

RE: 6 cell batterys?
this isn't a good idea. You'er going to burn up your radio gear with this, They are not like eletric motors were you can throw almost as much power as you want. They were desighned for 4 cell operation and tolerate 5 cell. But it's your stuff, go with it
Any volt meter will tell you the voltage. The only way to get ballpack capacaity is to use a computerized charger that calculates the relative charge rate over time after a near comlete drain, i.e cycle mode.
my 2 cents

RE: 6 cell batterys?
hi guys i am using 5 cell 6 volt 600 mah batteries, which go from max charge to 4.6 volts in an avergae time of 70 minutes, whichi think means i can fly at least 50 or so minutes
am i rgth or wrong?

Also I dont think that 4.6 volts is possible on a 5 cell pack. A battery is completely dead at 1.1 volts so on a 5 cell pack that would be 5.5v.
Maybe on your voltmeter it has 2 bars and the 5c voltage is above the 4 cell voltage and your are just reading the 4 cell voltage number.

RE: 6 cell batterys?
Since this thread is about 7Volt batteries I was hoping I could get some suggestion on charging methods from you guys. I have a charger tha has a variable Amperaqge for charging. Is the default setting of 3amps ok? Also how long shoiuld you charge a new 6 cell 7.2Volt battery for? Would the standard fast charge and 5omin trickle be sufficient? I cvan;t seem to get it to keep a charge for very long and it's brand new...

ccs77, sounds like you are abusing your batteries. Did you do the proper forming charge (at least two preferably 3 cycles of charging for 15 hours at 0.1C with discharge between cycles at 0.2 to 0.3C)? If not, you should still do this after first discharging them to .9 to 1 volt/cell. Check out Red's site at www.rcbatteryclinic.com for some good advice on the care of your batteries.

Crap...I had no idea I had to do all that. I had better get a diferent charger then...the one I have kinda does everything automatically, and I'm to stupid to go in and change it...I think you can change settings, but the instructions where very vague and said that that was for "experienced modelers".
