fuel line check valves
have been wanting to try the uniflow tank system for some on my planes that won't allow proper tank placement (eg. u-can-do), but haven't been able to locate a supplier.

RE: fuel line check valves
Make one...............take a Great Planes metal fuel filter..................a small BB, a spring from a ball point pen.
Open fuel filter, put in BB and spring.....reassemble, presto, instant check valve.
You can adjust amount of pressure by changing length of the spring.
Works great!

RE: fuel line check valves
Rob,
I used the [link=http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/WTI0001P?&I=LXLE55]YS Check Valve .61 ST-H[/link] from towerhobbies on an inverted SuperTigre G75. I tried the uniflow setup with limited success. Since the muffler pressure line and the fuel pickup are tied together, the fuel pickup was sucking up the bubbles from the muffler pressure line. This was causing the engine to run lean.
The uniflow setup with the check valve did stop the engine from siphoning fuel though.
I finally gave up and reverted back to a two-line system and found a plug with idle-bar that would let the engine idle much smoother.
I hope you have better luck. And if you do, please post your results....
Bill
