RE: Saving radio data
isn't this what computer radios are all about?
yes. this is your model memory.
the funtion on the radio is usually
MODL followed by a number.
MODL 1 MODL 2 and so on. Higher end radios you can put in alphanumeric text to profile a model. otherwise alls you get is the model 1-2-3-4 up to what ever your radio can save 4-10 on most more for more sophiticated radios
If your asking how to save your data. every radio I've ever used it does it automatically. Just enter into the model number you want then make the changes you need then exit the set up or just turn off the radio and turn it on and it's saved. This is acually the whole point of digital trims is to also save the trim points for each model and not have reset trims when you switch models. Though the older radios like the 6xa with mecanical trims you would trim the model in the air and have to go into the system when back on the ground and do the function then center the trims and everything would be trimmed.

RE: Saving radio data
If you want to save a bunch of them. Then get a radio like the 9C with a plug in module. The radio store 8 I think and the module will store another 4. You can buy all the modules you want. I think there is even a higher capacity module to hold more planes.

RE: Saving radio data
I was clear as mud on what I am wanting to do. I have a futaba 8U radio. I want to save the data on a computer as a backup if possible. Then transfer them to a new futaba 9C radio that should be here on Friday.
Thanks

Saving data from one model to another model transmitter may not mean that the aircraft are set correctly as the pot position on the new one will not be the same as the old one. you will still have to check and reset the center of every surface. From memery the 8U radio does not have the same data out as the 9C. Most radios have a data sheet in the manual that comes with the radio to save base settings. The only way to do this is manually.
Cheers.
