Default Changing Landing Gear - Easy Sport 40

I plan on making these changes to a Great Planes Easy Sport 40:

I plan on changing from the wire landing gear to aluminum, and also changing the foam wheels for rubber wheels. This will result in an additional 5.43 ounces (154 grams). I'd appreciate any feedback on this (will it still fly, will it be a dog, etc). I'm using an os .46ax engine, and yes, I do plan on doing a balance test before I take off.
Thanks...Colin

It depends on what the total weight is. I built an Easy Sport 40 from a kit and set it up as a tail dragger. Total weight was about 4 oz over the weight listed on the box. Also set up with a 46 Fx. Flies great.

You will hardly notice anything at all.

BTW -- The Easy Sport 40 makes a good aerobatic float plane

Hello!!!
My EasySport was tail dragger and the wire landing gear gave me a lot of trouble in the take off. When changed it to aluminum y had to reinforce with five layers ply and a couple of triangles in the inside of the plane in order to fix properly the new landing gear. I didn’t have problems with the little extra weigh.

Have a great day

I put the dubro i think it was in mine to convert my arf. It works great! very little balance change. Just be sure to reinforce the fuse as mentioned above, or it will come off in a less than perfect landing.
