Default Acid Flux, where to buy?

I used to buy this 2 oz bottle of clear acid flux for soldering and it would hold a house together. It was great stuff. It spattered a bit and was a little bit corrosive, but nothing you couldnt prevent after use. I used to use this on my slot cars in the late 80's. Where can I get this? Or has EPA shut it down? Thanks.

Its not a paste. Its a very runny, like water solution. Used to sell it in hobby stores... I think SIlver solder is different flux.

Beware, DO NOT USE ACID FLUX ON ELECTRONICS OR ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS. It is great for music wire and some other applications but, even there, be sure to thoughly clean all surfaces afterward or you will get lots of corrosion.

Hydrochloric (muriatic) acid should be available at most hardware or plumbing stores- Jim

It's called Stay Brite silver solder. Comes with a small roll of soft silver solder and little bottle of the acid flux. Home Depot may carry it.

Name change.

I have been using it since called Shiney Brite better than 20 years ago. Is not exactly clear, but very feint urine colored. Hold onto your old mini-bottle for reuse. The pint bottle is just too bulky to handle, so I refill the little 1/4 oz. thing over and over again. Works on steel, galv. metals, and disimilar ones. And yes it does work for electrical and does not corrode very fast. Time enough to wash off residue.

Is now called Sta-clean flux, by Harris. Available at welding supply stores. About $4 per pint here.

Wm.
