Foil Streamer
G'day all, let me start by telling you that I have just scored the best job i've ever had. I chase pelicans off a prawn (shrimp) farm with an R/C aircraft and yes, I get paid for it. At times I'll chase a flock way off the farm and up into the thermals and am having trouble seeing the plane. Tonight I have attached a 4 ft x 2 inch strip of foil streamer (the ones that say happy birthday on em) and I'm wondering if it would interfere with the radio signal, keeping in mind I fly far out at times? I'll pst some pics tomorrow night of the action. Look forward to any replies. John.

"Throw another shrimp on the barbie!" Just kidding you lucky duck.
Anyway, I'm not sure either, but I would use that flourescent plastic streamer material. Usually can be found at auto parts stores, or even lumber yards. I've used this on occasion just for gits and shiggles.

RE: Foil Streamer
Ok guys, I gave it a go this morning with no probs except the 4 foot streamer is now 12 inchs long. It whipped itself to pieces within minutes. I think the noise it made added to the scare factor to the pelicans. I reckon a strip of cloth might last a bit longer but it needs to be reflective. I only got the one static pic but I'll have my offsider take some in flight action shots this arvo. John.

G'day again, sorry about the delay. Here are a few pics of my work place and the duties involved They're not ral good quality and I hope for better action shots. I've been at for 10 days straight about 3 hours a day (10-15 minutes an hour flying time). John.
