Default Dubro nose wheel brakes

Does anyone know where I might find a Dubro nose wheel brake? They were used in the 70's and 80's but are discontinued by Dubro. It enabled one to taxi out, run-up and then release for TO. It was hooked to the elevator so that full down actuated the brakes. I used them on a SIG Cougar with a piped Webra 60 for air show work. Any help would be appreciated. Tnx

I recently found a NIB unit on ebay for back up to my original 70s vintage unit used in this thread http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_2434444/tm.htm

I've used nose wheel brakes for years, but mine have been by Rocket City. These have a small drum hub that has tangs on it to fit between the spokes of the wheel and a spring wound around the drum that tightens with spring pressure from the down elevator position.
I have a 2002 Tower Catalog, and on page 93 shows Rocket City Wheel Brakes, ROCQ1104 04 wheel brakes (2) ...... $6.00 TH price $5.79.
If these are what you're looking for, then you might contact TH with this old stock no.
I have in the past, built my own, very simple, and also works great. If this is what you want, I can post a drawing of it for you.

I have some NIB Rocket City units too but the Du-Bro units always worked better for me. Better leverage on the wheel I assume.

BTW the name is Du-Bro not Dubro.

Thanks for the post. Yes I would like a drawing, please..
I had tried a flap of metel that would bear against the tire sidewall, but it wasn't very successful.

Thanks again

The very first nose wheel brakes pushed a pad, usually fuel tubiog on wire onto the top of the tire as it rotated. Full down was used.
The early Du-bros.. I wish I hadn't sold the ones I had.. Sob!!
The newer wire wrappers work fairly well though.

Here's a drawing - you might want you increase the size if the pad a little which I did.

Thanks for the drawing. It is a big help.
Bob The name Du-Bro comes from an old friend, Dewey Bromberg who started the Co.

This is a great idea and I appreciate the diagram. Was this drawn using some sort of CAD or was it freehand?

The current Dubro EZ Brake part number #3370 is currently available for around ten bucks. I tested two on the main gear of a Boomerang Nano jet turbine about two years ago. The airplane is around 12 pounds and the crack pattern in the dry lake where the test were conducted did cause considerable landing gear vibration.

The brakes are of plastic and a plastic spring stop keep failing rendering the brakes harmless. This was asking a bit much and I believe they work fine when used as intended on a sixty size or less airplane and not much more than around nine pounds or so.
