.60 Lanier Stinger balance help
Dear RCU,
I have a question for anyone who has built the .60 size Lanier Stinger kit. Has anyone out there ever balanced the Stinger without adding a lot of lead to the tail to achieve the correct baance point? The initial balance range is from 5" - 5 1/2" behind the leading edge. I set the plane on my balance stand set for 5" and it is way nose heavy. While building the plane, I even mounted my 2 elevator servos as close to the tail as I could thinking it would help achieve the correct balance without adding a ton of lead to the tail. I'm thinking about moving my battery back into the tail to help, but I dont think that will do very much, and I will need a really long extension to reach the switch. Does anyone have any suggestions to make balance easier to achieve? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks !
David

RE: .60 Lanier Stinger balance help
David, what motor are you using? I had a stinger with an old Saito 80 in it, I had to add lead to the tail. I'd say move servos to the tail instead of adding weight.

RE: .60 Lanier Stinger balance help
The balance point on my 60 Stinge ARF is 4 to 4.5 inches. If I recall some of the manuals had an error in the balance point. I would suggest you call Lanier and validate the CG.
