The Scat Cat is a Quickie 500 Racer form the 1980's. It has a foam wing, balsa fuselage and tail.
When built straight, they fly awsome, very predictable and easy to fly
I used to race them. I quit racing because it took too much time and money.
I still have one that I fly frequently. With an old Webra Speed 40, it flys about 100 MPH and slows to a crawl for landing.
It is alot of fun and always good for a quick adrenaline rush! It is a wonderful aerobatic plane too!

I agree with firstplaceaviator. The Scat Cat is a Q-500 class racer that makes an awesome sport aerobatic plane.
Here's a page from my web site devoted to my dearly departed Scat Cat:

McDDD,
That is a cool looking Scat Cat!
The only better flying Quickie I had was a Lou Andrew Quick-Ray.
It had a weird reflexed airfoil that perfomed unlike anything at the time!
However, it did land faster than the Scat Cat.
The Scat Cat did better flat spins than anything I have owned until 3D planes came about.
I lost a Scat Cat in a flat spin, when my throttle servo quit working. The engine was at a high idle.
I was able to get the plane to flip into an inverted flat spin and back upright again.
But to no avail...The nose would not come down because of the torque.
It went in flat and tore the fuselage to shreds.
A friend of mine rebuilt that plane and put a Super Tiger .25 on it.
It was his first low wing and only his second plane. It has about a hundred flights on it since rebuild.
He has never wrecked it. It is much easier to fly than his first trainer, a Carl Goldberg Eaglet!
That says alot for the design and his piloting abiltities!

RE: fliteline scat cat
We raced them by the dozens in West Texas and Eastern New Mexico, powered by stock K&B 40s. Great fun and great flying plane. Bought them from Riley over the counter at Flite Line in Lubbock. They sell the kit for $50 now.
