Default Thinning CA

I have a two oz. bottle of medium CA that thickened over several months. Has anyone tried to thin out CA, or should I just throw it away. I should probably throw it out but I am just a little cheap.

I'd toss it. I read somewhere that you can thin CA by adding more CA to it but that seems like a risky deal and you could end up with even more waste.

You can thin it by heating it in a microwave. Do this in 10 second increments and if you need to zap it more than once, let the bottle cool off for at 30 seconds before zapping it again.

This will thin the CA out for a day or so depending on how thickened it has gotten.

Yes, you can thin it, but the reason it's thick is because it has started to cure.

I'd pitch it.

-Throw it away! As Dave Olson saya, "It is starting to cure". That means it is losing its strength!

You are going to risk a flying plane for 1 DAMM bottle of glue??

Thin it and fly the plane.

I store my CA in the garage beer cooler. It seems to have a nearly indefinite shelf life since it stays well below 40 degrees.

Same drill with the medium CA I take to the flying field. It goes in the beverage cooler, instead of the flight box. The cooler CA does take longer to set, which can be a real advantage in building also.

Throw the thickening stuff out, agree with concensus above, not worth loosing a plane over $3.00 worth of glue.
