Yeah, but what about all the boats too? Oh, and all the monster trucks, buggies, and cars? And don't forget the r/c motorcycles. They are all in competition for the space around my house with the airplanes!

Flying is only part of the fun, how many minutes/hours do you spend on actual flying a week. The whole hobby is a joy , from the minute you start thinking about your next project , visiting the LHS, the many hours of latenight building and eventually the test flight. Hell, even repair jobs are fun. What else would you be rather doing . As long as your bills are paid and you finances allow there is no such thing as too many planes !!

If you need to rent an apartment for the wife and kids because the house and garage are full of airplanes and other RC machines you may be approaching too many. Be on the loookout for a rental storage facility for the ones you haven't built yet.

With 20 flyable CL, 31 flyable FF, and 30 flyable RC, I don't feel I have too many planes. I still have 146 kits and partial built planes, and I don't know how many plans. It's just that my house, garage, and shed don't have enough room to store any more.

Back to the prior Algebra post, has anyone done the numbers relating to number of aircraft owned by married individuals, and single individuals? I would venture to say married persons own more aircraft, therefore more time is needed in the "bat cave" to keep them in proper working order at all times. right...... Yeah I know it doesn't work for me either.

well I thought that 20 some giant models hanging from the ceiling of the living, dinning, 2 bedrooms, plus some 20 more in the backyard shops wasn't too many-- untill Hurricane Katrina took them all away with the house and shops. now 3, 43" Folker D7's, 80" Farman Jabiru in the small spare bedroom seem to be a H--- of a lot. but I'm gaining on the situation. Nadine says that the budget is tooo limited these days along with space. dick

Let's see...in the 3 1/2 short years I have been into this hobby I have these planes ready to fly (all are kits unless otherwise noted)

1) LT-40 ARF
2) Super Sportster 60
3) UCD 60 ARF
4) TF Cosair
5) Formosa electric
6) GP Super Skybolt
7) Cor-Star
8) Cor-Star twin
9) Cor-Star bipe
10) Lucky (scratch built behemoth high wing)
11) Lanier Dart 60 ARF
12) SSE
13) Cor-Star hybrid
14) Four-Star 60 ARF (needs engine)
15) TF Cessna 182
16) Twin-Star ARF
17) Byron's CAP 21

I also have a Twin-Air in the bones, a Bridi Tigercat in the box, and a GP Extra 60 in the box.

You know you have too many planes when you make a list like the one above and have to go out and check to make sure you got them all. LOL. Too much is not enough in this hobby!

When wife asks, "Why do you need that many airplanes? You can only fly one at a time." I say, " why do you need so many pairs of shoes?". I only have 10 flyable planes. She has 20 or more pairs of wearable shoes. Why DO women need so many shoes?

Heres what I have in the flyable condition:

Goldberg Tiger 60, Birdi AirCruiser 60, Goldberg Sr. Falcon, Midwest Star Duster, Sig Wonder, Lainer Indicator.

In shop for repairs:

Goldberg Cub, Goldberg Eagle 2, Bud Nosen Trainer, Scratch built 20 size P51 D, Scratch built trainer.

R.I.P

Sig Kadet Senior, Great Planes PT 20, Tower 60 Trainer

As long as you can find an empty space that will fit the next plane you do not have too many.

I actually asked my wife about the number of pairs of shoes she has. Her answer? Because womens' shoes are designed for style only by woman hating mysogenists who have found a legal socially acceptable politically correct way to torture women by deliberately designing poorly fitting short lived shoes that are designed to torture and cripple women. She is just trying to find a comfortable shoe. The only decent fitting comfortable shoes that don't fall apart in a few months and that don't leave her with sore ankles, irritated bunnions, and corns she has are shoes she bought in men's departments. But it's dificult for women to try to work as professionals while wearing men's shoes. Sadly, we are still rulled more by social acceptance, political correctness and style than we are by common sense and intelligence.
Luckilly for me she doesn't try to point out to me she can keep all her shoes in one small closet! I might fit a couple of the smaller toy store type electric ARFs in the same space.

Yeah, but you could buy a real nice engine for all them shoes, it won't hurt your feet, unless you drop it on one. And it will only take up the room of one pair. Of course with advice like this before long we all might have a whole nother closet to put more stuff in.

My limit must be around 36 planes ,2 boats, I am working on my wife to let me get a full scale seamaster. I need one really....I live on a large lake. The waves are to large for my small seaplanes.

It is actually:

I will not buy anymore planes,I will not buy anymore planes,I will not buy anymore planes,

wow look at that one,

OK starting tomorrow I will not buy anymore planes,I will not buy anymore planes
It actually fits very well as I will buy one then a week or two later out will come another one that I like and so on and so forth...<shrug>

Too many:

1. When the wife leaves and it was not intended.
2. When you cannot find a place to store the last two purchases.
3. When you run out of money.

Generally speaking I am forever rearranging my work area so it will store the next two.
