Anyone used Ultracote Pearl Charcoal or other Ultracote Pearls?
I'm thinking about using the UC Pearl Charcoal for some black areas of my plane in addition to Pearl Red and Pearl White. However, I've heard some not so good things about the pearls, especially the white. I did a few searches and found a little bit of info, but nothing really conclusive. Does anyone have any good, clear pictures of some planes covered with lots of Ultracote pearls? Especially any in the colors I mentioned. I found a picture of a plane, but was told that the white doesn't actually look like that in reality.
I may just stick to regular colors. Hmm.
Any and all feedback concerning this is more than welcome!
Thanks!
BTW here is the picture:

I've used purple pearl. It seems to be a transparent color layer over a silver or white base. I got a little too much heat on a couple of seams and can see the base at the edge of the top layer. I don't have any photos. I'm not sure I'd spend the extra 5 bucks per roll if I had it to do again.

I've also used the pearl blue without issues. Though I've hear that the colors will run if you apply it with liquids, such as wet to move it around over other covering.

My only issue is with the pearl white, you can see through it pretty easily up close, but at 10 feet I think it looks great. I've done a couple planes with it.

Gimme a week or so... getting ready to cover my SSE w/ True Red and Pearl White. I can tell you from covering my control surfaces with the white pearl that it looks like a light silver. Haven't taken it outside yet to view it in the sun light though. Seemed to react the same to heat as the other ultra cote I used to cover my LT40(corsair blue and cub yellow).

I agree w/ daven... up close you can see a little through the pearl white. I've yet to see my plane outside but glad to hear this property is not noticable from a short distance away.
