Default Help with CJM rotating Corsair retracts!?

Hello,Im finishing up my .60 sized top flite corsair and am running into some troubles with the retracts..Im using CJM 90 degree rotating retracts and the wheels wont rotate fully when they go up in to the well...Its pretty disappointing.I think its the spring that wraps around the upper arm that controls the rotation but this spring would have to be super tight to make these rotate quicker..Any thoughts?Someone must have had this problem also..I made a video of the problem..please check it out and help me!!Thanks,Dustin

I have used the Century Junk retracts on a Top Flite P-40 and they are in a twin now. You are right, the spring won't get the job done. I made a guide rail from a piece of 1/16" music wire that acts as a cam for the little pin on the front of the rotating strut. One end is held down by one of the mounting bolts. The other end curves around the front of the unit and forces the pin to rotate.

Chuck, could you post a picture of your idea..I know what your talking about but not all the way...i emailed CJM and they said to get an adjustable valve to slow down the speed which would allow for the rotation to take place...thanks..Dustin

Now that they are working right I would still use the adjustable valve to slow down the movement to make it look more scale like... also next time you are building a plane with retracts take a look at Sierra Giant Scale retracts..... they are more expensive but are far better than century junk retracts.

Just an fyi , I buy century gear or seirra , then I use the robart control air valve , very reliable , simple to set up and you can get exact speed that your looking for
