transporting 80" warbirds
I was thinking about getting into 80" sized warbirds but not sure they will fit in my truck bed. I have a toyota Tacoma that I'm going to put a bed "lid" on, so the plane would have to sit completely within the bed of the truck. Could i get some measurements from the tailwheel to the top of the rudder of some planes in this range.
Below is exactly what my truck will look like, color and all.

i have a f-150 regular cab with a tonneau cover and all my planes fit just fine. i have quarter scale cubs etc. i can fit an eight foot telemaster wing inside of mine if i lay it down at an angle. so i believe you'll have no trouble.

Yes, the pickup you show may cause a size concern. Get a plane with a two piece wing.
I would agree with the topper cap.
Or buy a small trailer that has a cover large enough.
With retractable wheels in the wing the fuselage will set closer to the bed then if the plane had landing gear on the fuselage.
The next limit would be the height of the tail fin. This still might be a problem.
Check the length of some warbirds fuselage on web sites to see if the length is ok.
