YES. Provided that you let the Rustoleum cure about a week, then very lightly mist a coat of the LusterCote, let it set, and mist another coat, and let it set. I use American Accents sometimes (a Rustoleum product), and clearcoat it with LusterCote to fuelproof it. The two major points to good results are

1--well cured undercoat

2-a couple of very light misted overcoats, and never do a really heavy coat of LusterCote over enamel. Several light coats are much better, and LusterCote dries very quickly.

this might help I'm planing to use rustoleum on he plane I'm building now so I went straight to the source this is the reply that i received.

have used the Stops Rust Protective Enamels on both Monocoat and Ultracoat with good results .Make sure the covering is cleaned well with rubbing alcohol then scuffed well with 0000 steel wool. I do not recommend using the Rust-Oleum Clears. I have used both the Monocoat and the Ultracoat clears over the Stops Rust products with good results. I have run up to 15% nitro without any problems with the coating. Make sure you allow the finish to completely cure (can take up to a month depending on the conditions) before firing the engine up. http://www.rustoleum.com/product.asp...ct_id=18&SBL=1

Hmmmm.......................

I'm looking for a high gloss finish. Generally I must shoot the Crystal Clear, wait 3 minutes, shoot agian, wait 3 minutes, shoot, wait, shoot ,for a total of 4 fairly good coats to get that automotive kind of clear coat finish.

If I use Runstoleum for my colors, and wait a few weeks.............then can I hose on the crystal clear ?

Use Ultracote clear. Lustercote is lacquer base, while Ultracote is enamel base.
