OS 46 AX is more than enough power for this plane. But don't plan on doing 3D with it, it's not designed for that and won't do very well at all. On the other hand, for pattern it's a fantastic ship.

My vote would be YS-63 4 stroke or OS-55 2 stroke.

I fly mine with an OS 46 FX and another club member flys one with an OS70Surpass. An 82 Saito would be plenty without weighing a ton.

You can run it on that fuel, but you'd be better off with a higher percentage nitro fuel. The YS's like 20%-30% nitro, and run better with that fuel. But you'll be ok with what you have.

I had anotherr idea..

how about i build the plane finish rtf minus the motor and try and balance it obvoulsy it will be tail heavy (no eninge) i then slowly add wight (ziplock bag wedged in the motor mount with soe srewes as wightt) once i get enough screws in the bag for the plane to balance i wight this and look for an engine that wight about that form there i can go..

is this a good idea or am i REALLY tired?

Saito 82 will be more than enough engine for it. The other suggestions are also good but if you like the 82 go with your gut.

The plane will probably balance better with a 46 2-stroke.

But if you go with a 4-stroke, you could always move the battery back into the tail

Freak--

I have a Tower Kaos, 40size, that I added turtle deck to--it looks just like an Ultra Sport. I would't be surprised if they were the same plane. The Kaos kit came with formers for the turtledeck, but I had to provide the sheeting. Cut a Chipmonk canopyin half that was alying around. Engine mounted upright and just wood cheeks for cowl, but still looks pretty "Ultra Sport like." I prefer two stroke motors on these planes, although they fly fine with four strokers. I have a YS-45 w/ tuned pipe on mine and it flies very well. Good luck.

FlyingGreg,
You're not too far off. The Ultra Sport and the Kaos have the same wing on them. So yes, they are quite a bit alike.

In my YS's I have only run Power Master 20/20 so not for sure on sport mixture for YS but for the OS it would be fine. Let us know what you decide.

I have only the one YS, a two stroker and puts out plenty of power with tuned pipe and Wildcat 15% nitro/18% synthetic oil --it's what I use in all my engines.
