After run oil in OS engine carb.
In the OS manual it statrs " do not pour after run oil down the carb throat because it will damage the o-rings ".
I have been using 8-9 drops of Marvel air-tool oil down the throat of my engines for many years and am not sure if I have damage to the o-rings.I am not disputing the OS people, I just want some opinions from fellow fliers.
Thanks Varmit

RE: After run oil in OS engine carb.
Actually OS has no such injunction against after run oil down the throat
of the carb. What is meant in the manual is they do not want you
injecting oil into the fuel inlet. Down the throat is fine.
This info came from Bax from Hobby Services. The confusion
stems from the translation of the OS engine manuals.
Also 8-9 drops is not really enough to do much. I use about a teaspoon
if its going to be more than a couple of days before I run it again.

it suggests not to use after run oil after morgan fuel burns; cool power-green, and omega pink, would it hurt os engines to use it anyway?

I had a Thunder Tiger heli engine rust quite badly after sitting idle about 2 months.
I had used nothing but CP 15%.
That prompted me to start using after run oil. I use a 50/50 mix of
Marvels Mystery Oil and ATF. Havnt had a repeat episode of rust since.
So go ahead. It wont hurt a thing.

RE: After run oil in OS engine carb.
My first RC instructor got me in the habit of running the engine on WD-40 after the last flight of the day. Just spray some in the carb throat, warm up the glow plug and start her up. The theory is that burning the WD-40 will displace the remaining methanol that might attract water/humidity into the engine. Follow that with a dose of Marvel Mystery Oil worked in by running the starter motor. In case I put in too much oil, I remove the glow plug before running the starter so I don't get hydraulic lock and bend/break the con rod. Storing the engine nose down helps get some after run oil into at least one bearing, but maybe not both.
