Default Electric fuel pump for new flight box, which one?

I've got a new flight box and I want an electric fuel pump for it. NO, I don't want a hand crank pump.

I'm merely looking for opinions good and bad as to which is the best electric fuel pump on the market.

G'day Mate,
Sonictronics, or Sullivan, make good ones.
I had a Sonictronics for 24 years, worked great, finally wore it out.

Once again I'm going to agree with Allan. I've tried ones from Hobbico, Thunder Tiger, and even MVVS and they all would crap out after about a year. Although the MVVS lasted a couple years and would shoot a stream of fuel 30 feet![X(] But the Sonictronic one I had lasted for 15 years, and was still working but was getting kind of weak.

Now I've got a new Sonictronics on my 2-stroke field box and a Sullivan on my 4-stroke box.

My Sonictronics gave it up after about two years. I have one of these from Central Hobbies and it has worked great, so far. It works on AA batteries, no wires!

Scroll down to MKD Fuel pumps on this page:

Ditto on the thumbs up for Sonictronics. Had to take it apart a couple times in the past 20 plus years. But I'm still using it.

I use Sonictronics too and I've never had any problems. They come in 6V and 12V. I've seen some people that use automotive windshield washer fluid pumps because the local hobby shops don't carry this brand and the ones they carry don't last.

Well i have had the same problem with all the hobbico, hangar 9 ones. However, the one im using now has lasted almost 4 years and it cost me 2.50 cents. I went to the junk yard a picked up a windshield washer pump from an older 1982 Volvo and attached it to my fieldbox. It has twice the pumping capacity as the store bought, am still able to suck out unused fuel, and cost me almost nothing. I think the gas used to get to the junk yard cost me more.
If you are interested you must use the washer pump from an older volvo or saab as they used gear driven pumps. You can use any pump pretty much but, you just wont beable to reverse the pump.
