Pulse jet engines

Default Pulse jet engines

Does anyone have any information on pulse jet engines i.e, can they be used in RC, are they still being used, cost, are they still available ect.

I think they are quite explosive, and therefor not suitabe for RC.

Do a search here for "dynajet", more than one year ago, and see much information. If you try a pulse jet at your field be ready to take up a new hobby because you won't be using the field after the neighbors hear that blast! My recollection is not that they are "explosive", but that they do lack any means of throttle control on the old dynajets.

Extremely noisy, can be difficult to start, can't be held on the ground for any length of time after startirg, or they melt!
Get very hot in use and retain the heat nicely.
There's no up side to a pulse jet.

Flew one once in Eta Jema Japan in 1954. The MPs came out to field and demanded we land at once We ask why and he said it interfeared with the radios, and Eta Jema was the receiving and sending of all military data to the Armed Services of that area. We had to crash land it because it did not have throttle control. It was mounted in an F86. 36"wing span.. Totaled everything..[&o]
