Default Reversed Throws

I think we should start a class for those dummies out there who cant even preflight there planes
before trying to fly them.
I would be ashamed to addmit it if i had reversed throws.
PREFLIGHT PREFLIGHT PREFLIGHT and when your finished with that DO IT AGAIN
Sure i crashed planes im not perfect but never because of reversed throws.
Dont forget to PREFLIGHT PREFLIGHT PREFLIGHT.

How many planes do you have? Wait until you fly on the wrong model memory. Has it ever happened to me? No, but I'm not pompass enough to come on here and call others dummies because it has happened to them. It could happen to ANYONE.

Two kinds of modelers in this world. Those who have reversed throws, and those who will. Someday, you will, count on it.

I live in constant fear of that day.

I had three models flying on a 6DA (non computer radio but with manual mixes) and I went to the trouble to trim all three models to the same settings on the transmitter.

Now I have a 9C and I just know some day I am going to have the wrong model menu "up". I bet I check that 15 times in the pits. I worry enough about that to certainly be so preoccupied as to overlook something like connecting the ailerons or hooking them up to the wrong sides. Only a matter of time.

Boy, I couldn't agree with you more! Of all the nutty mistakes people make, I could never understand how any one could take off a plane with reversed ailerons. Makes no sense at all. When it happened to me, I attributed it to a solar flare condition or some unseen cosmic curse that was not my fault. That was 10 years ago.

BTW, it's..those dummies out there who can't even preflight their planes....

I stand before the alter of shame. I preflight. Three different models in my fleet have experienced attempted flight with each having one of the primary control throws reversed. I can tell you which is worst (aileron). The greatest contributor to committing the error is distraction. It happens to all of us at one point or another. It happens to full scale pilots too, often with tragic results.

If you think you are immune, you are wrong. If you recognize the possibility and work to minimize it, you are a good pilot.

Have fun!

I'll never, never, never, EVER have reversed servos. But I'm plenty dumb enough to have forgotten to plug the aileron servos in, and then took off..........and I preflighted, too (was running my mouth and not paying attention). It was like flying a 3-channel plane with a warped wing. Not much fun.

I was doing fine until the last one:

[] Release rudder stick when airborne. Compensate W/ailerons.

When I set down my transmitter and picked up the pen (a "falling object" which I had removed from my pocket) and ticked that box on my kneeboard I looked up just in time to see my plane make a big smoking hole off to the far side of the runway. []

What did I do wrong?

Your pen should be on a lanyard around your neck.

Charlie,
I will agree!
Never had anyone point that out.
