Default MVVS 26cc gasser - electronic ign voltage?

I have recently taken delivery of a new MVVS 26cc petrol (gas) engine.

The electronic ignition is by MSR Engines and recommends a battery pack of 6.0 to 8.4 volts, min capacity 600 mah.

I wondered about the recommended voltage range and also battery capacity and put a post on the BMFA forum (UK).

I was surprised that all of those who responded said that they used a 4.8v battery (usually around 1500 mah) on this engine without any problems.

4.8v would be convenient for me but, before I finally decide, I'd like to take some more advice from worldwide users.

Anybody out there who can help?

Thanks in advance guys.
