Default JR transmitter, Futaba and GWS receiver

Subject basically says its all. I have two planes. One with a futaba receiver and one with a micro GWS receiver. I have the chance to pick up a JR XP6102 for a pretty good deal. Will the transmitter be compatiable with the receivers I have? Thanks

Damien,

JR and Futaba trnasmitters and receivers are not compatible. I'm not familiar with GWS, so I can't say about them. If you look around, you should be able to find good deals on a six channel Futaba radio as well. The Futaba 6EXA is a very capable radio that is easy to program. So are the 7C and 9C radios. JR also makes excellent, easy to use radios, but I am not very familiar with them since I have only used Futaba equipment in my plane.

Fly safe and have fun!!

I'm not familiar with that transmitter. If it has selectable shift (some computer transmitters have this feature) then it is compatable. You need to be able to change the transmitter to transmitt on negative shift. Typically JR and Airtronics use positive shift while GWS and Futaba are typically negative shift.

As I understand it, all radios in the world use a positive shift with the following exception: Futaba and Hitech in North America on 72MHz. These radios use negative shift. Futaba and Hitech receivers and transmitters, unless they are shift selectable, are not compatible between Europe and the US & Canada.

By the way, ham frequency radios are all positive shift no matter where.

This means the Futaba and GWS receiver will not work with a JR 6102 transmitter.
