Default Replacement batteries

I have two old Futaba 4ch radios and want to replace the rx and tx batteries. I would like to use the new NIMH batteries, and solder my own packs together, rather than buy the Futaba onesfrom the store, Am I missing something ?
Do you pros out there recommend this?
Thanks for having a wonderful Forum.

You can solder your own packs together. Not a problem, just make sure you do not use excessive heat, otherwise cell damage can occur. Recommend you purchase the single batteries with the tabs to help with the soldering process without overheating that first cell or two.

I just replaced the pack in an old 4-channel Futaba radio myself. I got it from Batteries America. (try: www.batteriesamerica.com).
