I am not saying this is the best four stroke 91, but I am saying I have the FS-91S II buy O.S. and it is great and runs perfect for me and I am buying more of the same.

In my book, the OS 91 Surpass is #1 for price, performance and reliability

I have heard good and bad things about the Magnum 91 which appears to be an OS knock-off. However, if I were looking for an inexpensive 91, I wouldn't be afraid to try one.

gregziemba,

I run all gas engines now but when I was running Nitro engines I always went with Saito. I had the FA-72, FA-82A, and the FA-91 Special. Saito is a good reliable engine that will last a long time.

I'd go with the Saito myself. Are you wanting one for the 46 Do or the 60 size? 3D capable or just sport/aerobatic flying?

Saito and OS are good engines. I used nothing but OS when I would run a 2-stroke but I had better luck with Saito on the 4 stroke engines. Proper maintenance on either and they will last a long time. I had the Saito 72 and the 82 both on profile planes and they were a blast. I had an OS 50SX 2 stroke on a U-Can-Do 46 and it was a good combo.

Saito makes a good engine. But I'll take an OS over a Saito any day

I have 2 Saito .91's and 2 Magnum .91's. The Saito's are nicer looking, have better fit and finish and are probably the better motor.....but having said that, the Magnum .91's started up the first crank on my break-in bench, ran peferectly, have no transition problems and cost only $149.99! I never had to adjust the low idle circuit on either engine. I can buy 2 Magnums for the price of one Saito 1.00 (just about). The Saito's have better resale value. I personally hate Chinese knock-offs but I also fly nothing but ARF's and we all know where they are made.

I would go with the magnum, its a great engine and a great price. If money wasnt a big deal I might go with the Saito, but for the price the magnum is hard to beat. I have a magnum 91 4 stroke in a Ucando 46 type plane (funky 40) and it is a great match. Great power to weight ratio. Runs great on 5% . Put a 14X6MA prop on it and you will have one sweet flying bird!

I´ll also mention that I have been flying this plane for over a year now with the magnum. I fly it almost every weekend and have yet to have a deadstick. Recently when the magnums were on sale again I bought 2 more.
