Default what is this set up worth? please everyone read answer

we have a Alpha 40 trainer with a 40 size Evolution motor on it, brand new plane never flown.
radio (radio includes (4)Jr-Nes-527 servos,Jr propo quattro 4 channel Transmitter)Channel 16
power panel
Electric fuel pump
extra glow plug
cap for the gallon fuel jug
starter

I was thinking maybe $350-$400 my father thinks thats too high, what do you guys think? if this is in the wrong spot then move it. didn't know a good place to ask this.

Edited this post to post everything it has, just need fuel and a battery gel cell for the Field box and its ready to go.

Guess that kind of depends. What "40 size motor" is installed and which JR radio? And then there are servos, batteries etc to consider.

$350 to $400 sounds about right if everything is new. Of course, it also depends on how fast you want to sell it too.

I seen a new looking Avastar with an OS40 and a 4 channel Futaba radio system for sale out at the club for 100 bucks.Maybe that will give you something to meter your stuff against.

Do yourself a favor...
Put it up on Ebay that is where you get the most for it.
Keep in mind you can put a reserve on it.

I dont fool with ebay, I have it posted on a local site and will run a ad in the two newsletters of the clubs I belong to, i think a plane RTF is worth more then $100.00 I am sorry but you cant even buy the radio for that price.

I didn't really look at that before, just looked again, I didn't realize that was RTF but thats the plane radio motor still no Field box.and it has everything for it, We just found the battery for the box, well it wasn't lost but thought my dad needed it but i will give it with the stuff also.

The Field box and all the stuff should be worth at least $100 itself.

After being idle that long, all the batteries will most probably have to be replaced so your selling price should be downward adjusted accordingly.

The tx batterys seem to be good, i charged them and there doing good, the gell cell is good cause dad has used it and keeped it cycled and well the planes might be the only ones need replacing. but sure they work for testing, but I wouldnt fly it w/o new ones. If I can get $300-$350 I will be happy.

It's worth every bit of $400.00. If anyone thinks they can run down to the hobby shop and get the same for less, please do try.

Thanks, I think so too but I would liek to give a new guy a good deal, better then he could get from the LHS since the only local one around here is Hobbytown usa, not saying nothing bad about them but there prices are high.

This is a great looking plane, I never flown one but I am sure it flies great also. I guess I will load it in my truck on weekends and take to local feilds and advertise its forsale, I going to make a flyer about it and put up at the feilds also

I gave 200 for mine used (alpha 40), but at the time they were a bit over 300 brand new. The cost has come down on them now. 290 brand new everything you need. If you get over 250 for the whole thing, then consider yourself lucky. Personally, if you won it, then it didn't cost you anything--so why are you trying to make so much money off of it. Someone without so much money trying to get in could really benefit from your winnings, and you'd get some nice cash in your pocket. I'd ask 250 for the whole thing, and be surprised if I got over 225 for it. If you take it to a swap meet you'll never get that much money out of it--and that's where modelers go to spend money.

Basic sales 101. Charge whatever the market will bear. If you can turn a profit there's no sence in selling it for less than you can get. If you can buy for a buck and sell for a hundred you're stupid not too. The gas companies do it to us every day...

Yeah I know right, and I am a poor guy and need as much money as I can get. My dad won it and well he wants half of whatever I make or at least $100 if only get 150 or something.

Your not going to get Everything you need for $225.00\

And you're not going to sell that stuff for 350 to 400 dollars. But I know that's not what you wanted to hear. Why not just put it out there for 400 dollars and see what happens. You are wasting time asking us. Like the man said, whatever the market will bear. Put it out there. When it sits for months, then you can slowly lower the price until you sell it. If it sells for 400 dollars, then you win, and I was wrong. Either way--who cares? Put it up for sale. If it's still all in the box, then you could ship it. If it's not in the box, and you don't have any way of crating it back up, then don't even think about shipping it. It will be a nightmare.

I think you should list it for 325 and give someone a good deal. I'd take 275 though. I know it's worth more but that fact that they didnt buy it from the store them self and it is put together takes down the price. I know you need the money but since you put it together it isn't totally new so just take what you get.
