Default CG-Sig Kadet Senior

My Sig Kadet Senior is now converted to a tail dragger,, My question is about the CG--I`m running an OS FS 70 surpass engine weighing in at 20oz, where do I measure on the wing to find the proper CG?;;;Or is there a rule-of-thumb procedure.

THANKS GUYS
JIM

yes, same as the trike. I converted mine to a tail dragger too. Also using the surpass 70. Great combo.

Did you have any trouble mounting your engine? I found I had to extend the cowl out. I used an OS aluminum mount for the 70 surpass. Do have pictures of your engine mounting?

Sturbridge,,, I moved from Worcester a little over a year ago. Great flying down here!

Thanks for the comeback

When balancing, be sure to start with rhe plane level. If you start with the tail down you could think it is tail heavy when it is OK.

It won't matter. If it's balanced properly, then the plane should return to a level attitude no matter what attitude you start/put it into. Especially on a high wing plane. The only time this isn't the case is on a low wing if you try to balance it right side up. Then you will have difficulties if balancing it on your fingers because the center of mass is above your balance point, so it will continue to try and "rock" on you. However, with a high wing plane, where the center of mass is below where you are holding it to balance, then the plane will sit/return to level attitude when it is properly balanced.
With the sig kadet, the recommended spot is the front of the main spar at the fuse sides. HOWever, anywhere on the main spar will work--that plane is very forgiving. Just don't get it behind the main spar--then you'll have problems.

I can take a pic tomorrow, but no, I had no issues with mounting the OS. I just used a dubro mount.
