Default Canopy install

Hi all;
I'm getting close to the canopy installation on my Venture 60. In the past I've always cut away a small strip of Monokote and glued directly to the wood. I have "Canopy Adhesive". Can I get away with gluing directly to the Monokote?
Thanks!

Yes, but it's not a bad idea to poke a few holes in the covering first, or scuff it with sandpaper
