Default 5in1 Camera Power from Servo Lead

My CSIT 5-in-1 camera's battery quit holding a charge. I popped the cover off to discover the pack in it was swollen. Would only stay on for about 1 minute and would then die. Looks like it was overcharged from leaving in the USB port? Checked the voltage level, ~4.5V. Recalled a thread where someone powered their 5V camera off of their Rx. For kicks I cut off the pack and stuffed the leads into a Rx pack connector. Fired up and took video just fine. No more battery worries. Just have to connect a servo lead to the camera now and I'm good to go. Confirmed the camera will run off the USB power when transferring videos off of it.

Yeah - I use this on my Stryker. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0p4rqcsXRrY Quality is not super but decent I think for $30. It's sometimes difficult to find the smaller 5in1 cameras. This one was on Overstock.com for a few months then they sold out.

You can do the same thing with the CVS disposable camcorder. Look on the internet for the mods..... and presto! it's not so disposable.
