Default Identify this retract?

Hello

I know this a kinda crappy picture, (scanned picture from manual) but can someone identify what brand/model this retract is? Picture is of steerable nose gear.
I am putting together a KMP Flycat,...its a new plane,.... no assembly threads on this plane yet, and the manual gives no reference as to what type of retracts to use. My friend Serge bought this plane, got a little frustrated with it, and gave it to me. He called KMP and they told him it was Hobbico retracts,....not true. Any help would be apreciated....thanks guys

You are right, It's definitely not Hobbico. It's also not Robart. Why not just use a Hobbico retract? Robarts are great quality if you can afford a set. Spring Air, Great Planes, and Dave Brown are also good retracts.

I don't mean to be Mr. Obvious, but did he install it in the correct direction? [sm=spinnyeyes.gif]

The Hobbico retracts work in the same direction as the illustration.

Does this nose gear have like a little semi-circle which extends maybe 1/8 inch beyond the surface of the plastic?

I saw such at a hobby show a few years ago, and they were rather inexpensive. With separately installed wire gear parts?

I am in contact with the factory to determine what they used. I will try to remember to post when I find out.

They are a chinese no-name retract, not available in North America.

So, what we're going to do is have one sent to Sierra Giant Scale, and have him design a retract to fit it.

Am I missing something? I don't see how they work differently.

It really looks a lot like the retracts used in the World Models ARFs.

Has anyone found retracts for this? I just icked one up and I owuld like to put retracts in it. How did you install the main gear retract servos? Seperate servos in the wing which will cause some modification to the wing or did you just put one servo in the fuse and leave the wing attached?

Thanks
Scott
