help alining a new tail wheel

Default help alining a new tail wheel


I have a R/C Plane that i just installed a tail wheel, i am having trouble getting the plane to taxi straight? The tail wheel is linked to the rudder so when the rudder turns so dose the wheel, i can get the rudder straight but not get the wheel, dose anyone know how to align the wheel and the rudder? or have any good tricks to get this working???

just adjust the clevis that is connected to the steering arm on the wheel.

Keep in mind that you will always have to overcome torque while taxiing.

If the wheel and rudder are pointing the same way, the wheel is straight. That doesn't mean the plane will roll straight.

Hi!
Sorry! But your metod of mounting the tailwheel is not that good.
A much better way is to mount it directly to the siderudder (under the side rudder)and bend the piano wire backwards so the wheel is more or less self centering. That way the steering of the wheel will be much more accurate and you will get rid of all those linkages and sloop.
