Default How warped can a wing be?

I'm constructing a Great Planes Cap 232 .40.

I just completed the right side of the wing and the trailing edge
somehow, came out with a bow.

From root to tip the "chord height" of the bow appears to be about .125-.15.

Is this something that will (or can) come out in the covering?

Or, Is my plane simply going to auger into the ground moments after take off?

Any assistance or comments on wing warping and resulting flight
characteristics would be greatly appreciated.

Well it won't auger into the ground. And unless you're into precision aerobatics you probably won't notice it. But if it bothers you try overbending it slightly in the opposite direction and spray the trailing edge and vicinity with water mixed with a bit of alcohol or vinegar or ammonia and let dry. Should be ok

Thanks Vinnie.

I'll give it a shot.

I don't think you are going to see a problem. I have seem some pretty warped wings. Take the warp out with the covering if you can if it bothers you.

Soak that part in red hot water then place a weight on it until it's dry. After that make it bone dry with a blow dryer.
Been bending canoe ribs for 20 years and even Old town canoe uses the same method

If none of the above work, try steaming it out with one of those whistling teapots, or something that will concentrate a good jet of steam in one area. Just direct the steam onto the warp while bending slightly in the direction opposite the warp, getting the whole area nice and moist. It will dry quickly, allowing you to see if you're making any headway. It should work.

I'm not saying it won't work but read my post above.
I've been bending wood for more then 20 years and some as big as 12 foot long 2X4's
I made a steamer.soaker for those long canoe strips and 2X4's
A 4" diameter pipe 12 fee long, capped on one end.
Fill it with water and place a propane burner under the capped end.
I can bend a 2X4 90* in 5 treatments and not have a fiber split.
What i'm trying to say is you can't beat a red hot water soak.
Then place a weight on it and when it's 90% dry finish it off with a blow dryer. When you think it's bone dry keep the dryer on it for another 15 minutes.
Maybe i'll start making canoes again.

Hey WB,

I apologize for the poor choice of words. I didn't mean that any of the ideas presented would not work, or that I thought they were bad ideas, but was merely leading in to "here's another method".

I should have said "Here's another method".
