proper way to measure horizontal stab on a biplane

Default proper way to measure horizontal stab on a biplane

I have a question on measuring the horizontal stab do I use the bottom wing or top. I really want to get this right and have a super flying plane. look at the picture an it will tell what I am asking. also I want to paint the cabaines and the landing gear what prep work do you suggest and which color would look good on this ultimate. what is the best paint to use. I am going glo power.

The bottom wing. As for the gear and cabane, you can paint them with just about anything. Aluminum is pretty easy to cover. I would use a sandable primer first though. The medium they used to sandblast it was fairly aggressive. I thought about painting my cabane blue and the gear black. I have the same plane, and it's a blast
Oh, and you are correct. measure from the horizontal stab to the bottom wing, not the aileron.

Good looking Ultimate. I'd use the bottom wings to measure from, it's a straighter shot, but either one should work as long as the top wing is properly aligned with the bottom one.
