Default lithium tx packs

I'm wondering if anyone is using a lithium pack in there transmitter? I use a Futaba 9C and would like to switch to a litium for longer periods between charging if possible. If you use one please let me know what you're using and where to find them if they are made for transmitters.

Default RE: lithium tx packs

I know of people who do.....but I honeslty don't understand it......

first... it works.. but is "not recommended" due to the higher voltage,,,,

next...how much does a quality 11.1v 2100 mAh pack cost? about $70 or so...right?

Go to Radical RC or NoBS
and buy a 2700 mAh Ni battery and you get longer run time than a 2100mAh pack, no probs with voltage (or risk of probs) and it costs about $47....

That is what I did with my 9C and I can fly HOURS between a charge

I have a 2100 pack in it now. I thought I'd ask about the others. I do get good times between chargers now, just thought maybe there was something better yet.

If common sense says never charge a LiPo pack when in your aircraft, isn't using a LiPo pack and charging inplace in an expensive Tx. asking for trouble???

I did buy that same battery and it's the SH**!!! I'm glad I bought mine. You're right, take it out and charge it every so often and fly for a very long time. Does'nt get better.
