What glue should i use to attach my dummy pilot. It will be attached to lite ply, i've heard of using silicone but i am not sure! Any Suggestions?

Thanks,
Austin

Acarter, try any of the "Goop's", shoe goop, plumber's goop etc. I used it in a Hog bipe and it has worked very well, shouldn't get brittle. Tom

Regardless of the glue you use, put a screw up through the bottom or you will be re-glueing it the first time you crank up the engine!

I'm with Minnflyer on this one. Every pilot I've attached without a screw has come loose, eventually. Had a full-body pilot warp, looked like he was leaning over to look through the gunsight, had to run a straightener up through his back. One time I used goop to tack a head down, and at the end of the season I hung the plane upside down for storage. A few months later, the head was laying in the canopy.

Too many things affect those pilot mountings, I'm using a screw or two on each one now.

Good luck,
Dave Olson

Ditto with the above two. Glue in a plywood plate, flush, in her 'tummy' void. then screw into it. Re-enforce the cockpit underside too, or a large washer to spread out the clamping force.

Give the arm hinges a bit of glue too. Sometimes there is enough vibration to get them arms in weird & unnatural positions.. creepy..

I just finished after adding a yoke and a screw to hold her down as minnflyer suggested. I also added a little glue to her pivot points so she doesn't move her arms. Now I'm debating using scews or glue to fasten the canopy, if i do decide to use glue what should i use to do so?

Thanks,
Austin

Ditto on the stuff OldScaleGuy uses. It's the best thing I've ever found for canopies
