Default how to check Center of Gravity ..CG..

does it matter if you check the CG right side up....or upside down. i've seen it done both ways and am not sure which is correct.

G'day Joe,
It depends on where the wing is on the fuselage, if it is on top, then balance, with tank empty, right side up, if the wing is on the bottom of the fuselage, balance upside down, if the wing is in the middle, like a Yak 54, then it does not matter which way it is.

Wing on top you balance right side up
wing on bottom balance up side down

mid wing doesn't matter

always balance with the tank empty UNLESS the tank is behind the cg (like "pushers")

Here are a few....I really like the Great Planes CG Machine as it lets me move things around so I don't have to add lead somewhere.
