In a word NO.

It will do some 3D stuff but the control surfaces are too small. The best 3D machines at 60 size are profiles.

Try a MOJO 60 http://www.swanyshouse.com/mojo60/mojo60.aspx

Or an OMP Fusion http://www.ohiomodelplanes.com/comer...?idProduct=222

Both should hover with a good 61.

here is the plane i decided on today.. should be a good plane to learn 3d i think i just finished it minutes ago here are a few pictures of the finished product, i completed it in about 7 hours! overall i think it was a super buy.. i had to use 3 of my own parts so the hardware was ok not super, but the plane went together nicely and looks super for 128 bucks! i plan to put it in the air tomorrow if the weather permits me to do so, therefore i will have an update on this plane and how it flies!

Default RE: yak 54 56" ws 3d

flew the plane 2 flights for a total of almost 20 minutes.. flew great on the first flight and for most of the second flight until the cowl came loose (my fault) and i almost lost the plane over some pine trees until the prop finally ground the cowl down far enough for it to break and fall off, after that, normal flight resumed and i brought it in immediately, i nearly wet myself because i knew i had lost the plane, it actually dipped down behind a couple of trees but didn't touch them so the cowl had a chance to break off and flying went back to normal.

overall the plane flies better than i expected! plus the owner of the shop came out and unlocked his shop to sell me this plane on christmas eve! now i need to find a new cowl! where is the best place to find a replacement cowl that will fit this plane? maybe one that is all checkered or one with the same paint job as the original.. it is the same plane that is sold by nitroplanes.com for less money, plus this guy is dedicated to customer service, sent a guy a new plane because the covering peeled up on one wing! since it is the same plane, a replacement cowl should be available, just need to know where.

If you can't find one it should be easy to scratch build. For the most part it's round with no unusual curves. How much is left of the original? You may have enough there to use as a template.

Sorry to hear about your misfortune. At least it lives to fly another day. Velcro is good for securing an electric motor cowl, but with glow there is too much vibration and the glow fuel will tend to loosen the adhesive securing it to the plane.

i hate the adhesive on the back of velcro so i ALWAYS put ca on the back of the velcro before putting it down. i won't be doing that again for a cowl though! the cowl is pretty chewed up, i'm sure it could be repaired, but i am not familiar with fiberglass repair, nor would i be able to paint it properly, it would be so much easier just to find a replacement! i think that nitroplanes has a replacement cowl for this plane, but they are calling the cowl a cmp yak 50 cowl, their yak 50 is the same plane as mine, i just got mine much cheaper at texasrcplanes.com.. i think that is the cowl, but there are no pictures and it says cmp and i dont know what that means, it could be for a different plane?
