quadra carb
I want to change the carb on my quadra 35 to one with a choke so don't have to cut the cowl on my drI , the # on the carb is 58 , what do I change it to anyone know thanks.

You may have better luck in the gas engine forum....
That said, I've made chokes for gas engines in the past. Justa bit of aluminum flashing and some tinsnips, it's easy. Not a butterfly choke, but a swing choke. Mine's hand operated, but rigging for a pushrod would be simple enough.
I drilled a hole in the choke plate I made that was larger than the screw I used. Then I slipped a bushing over the screw, and some washers and a stiff spring over the bushing. Tightened it onto the existing screw holes in the carb. The bushing allows you to torque the screw down (to prevent loosening in flight), while the washers and stiff spring provide a force to make the choke stiff to move (mine is hand operated, if you servo'd it, omit this stuff...)
This is MUCH cheaper than a new carb. Take care while doing this to keep the choke plate as straight as possible, so it seals enough to choke. Also, make it so it clears the intake entirely when open, or you'll be slightly down on power.
