First gasser /radio question
Hi Guys
Going into my third season of r/c flying and want to build a gasser.
A 25% su-31 with crrc 26 is my current choice.
My question concerns the electronic ignition and hitec optic 6 with non pcm reciever.
Will the ignition cause rf interference? Will i need to upgrade to pcm rx?
$100 for a pcm rx.....I will jump on the 2.4 wagon if this is the case.
Please advise
thanks

RE: First gasser /radio question
If you are careful setting up your plane, taking care to eliminate and separate sources of RFI, a standard FM receiver will work just fine. PCM does nothing to eliminate RFI, but it does hide it's effects. Small glitches seem to go away, but the radio is actually just holding the last good frame, hoping the next good one comes before it's too late. PPM (standard FM) would show the same problem by glitching, and you could take steps to eliminate the problem.
2.4ghz systems are more resistant to RFI, but not immune to it.

jbury
thank you for the acurate info.
with all the 2.4 comming out i dont really want to buy another 72 rx.
i could swap with another model.
I think i will do that and wait to see what hitec will offer in the 2.4 band.
thank you
