Brodak says they dope is not compatible with other brands. Has anyone had good results doing this? Tnx, Khelsae

Not sure what you are trying to do, however I do know that some of the paint dopes on the market are not compatable with others. Good Luck, Dave

For the most part, Butyrate dope is compatible over Nitrate dope. However; you are talking about two different brands of dope. I generally stick with one brand (Sig in my case) when doing an all dope finish.

If you already have the Sig Nitrate and Brodak butyrate on hand, then make up some test pieces and see what happens when the butyrate is brushed over the nitrate. You might also give the Brodak people a call and talk to them about it.

In general, you can put Butyrate over Nitrate but NOT the other way around. If brands are different, I'd test a sample first for compatability.

I have done this combination with no problems. Brodak and Sig are completely compatible from my experience. Jim
