I have a Great Planes Venus II. I am running spektrum ds 821 servos all the way around EXCEPT the rudder I am using a futaba 9254. I am running a 6 volt 1800 mah pack. I was wondering I know the 9254 is most commonly used with the futaba gy 401 gyro on heli's, the issue that I am having is when the plane just sets there and with no input at all the rudder servo starts twitching. However not all the time. Does anyone know what might be causing this? Also was wondering if this servo can be used on an airplane rudder or does it need the gyro to give it a constant input signal like it is used on a heli?

That servo is made for high speed operation where torque isn't a big deal, there's a lot better choices for a rudder servo that are a lot cheaper than a 9254.

Also it's not rated to run at 6V which is probably what your problem is.
