planes CG ?
I'm wanting to know if the suggested CG of a plane is with the fuel tank full, or empty ? I believe it is empty. In that case I may have a tail heavy plane for the CG is a head of the MFG's suggested by about 1/4".....
Dag nab it !

planes CG ?
You are definitely going to get a lot of different answers on this....
Empty, Half Full, Full.....
I have always done the CG my planes with the tank empty. If it had retracts, have them up.
This will always make the plane nose heavy through the tank of gas. It is always better to be nose heavy than slightly tail heavy.
After I get the GC set, I go back and see how it changes when a full tank of Fuel. If it changes the CG more than a 1/4 inch I usually reconsider the Fuel tank placement. This is a personal preference not a standard, as far as I know.
Hope this helps,
Michael

Thanks for the replies. Flew the plane today, it was tail heavy! Didn't crash though, and I ordered a Heavy Hub to help forward the CG. I will also order an engine mount and set forward the engine some. I set it back from factory specs thinking by using a Fox BB .25 instead of the OS FP .20 I would need to move the engine back some.....guess not.....
