Wing Fairing on a War Bird
I'm to the point where I have to make the fillet on the top side of the wing fairing on a 87" wing span war bird. What are some of the "easy" techniques used to do this? I'm thinking of filling the space with styrofoam, shaping and sanding it smooth, and just fiberglassing over it. Is this a reasonable approach or will the styrofoam fiberglass combination dent easily?

RE: Wing Fairing on a War Bird
I have used SIG EPOXOLITE PUTTY by Sig Manufacturing with good results. You make a pattern of the bottom of the fillet with very thin plywood and glue it in place on the wing saddle. Then use the the putty to fill in the wing fillet shaping it with your finger and/or a small ball. I have done this five or six times through the years creating a very strong fillet shaped the way I want. You can fine it at:
