Default Motor and tank mounting

Mounting an os 61 side ways are the fuel tank lines still center with the tank. I have it this way already and I cant get the motor tuned in right.

It runs rich, upper and lower. When I lean it out a little it quits and wont start unless I richen it up.
I ran this motor upright and it runs fine.

Is it a brand new engine or has it been WELL broken in? What do you mean by runs rich upper and lower? There's no reason why if it runs well upright it should run just as well on it's side.Sounds to me that you're not getting pressure in tank or have air leaks. Perhaps you can better describe.

The engine has about 50 flights on it. I change tanks and fuel lines and put the tank where the tank is center with the carb. The tank is 1 1/4 inches from the back of the engine, so I think its close enough. After flying it for about 3 minutes the engine starts to lose power.

Was this with the low end adjustment inside the throttle arm or are you just tweaking the high end setting?
If you are just doing the high end setting you need to do the low end one and then the high end it may need to be a bit richer on the high end.
You may have an issue with fuel flow and the low end setting need to be adjusted a bit now.
It sounds like it is flooding out or way too rich at the lower settings.
