Not sure how satisfied with horizon / saito warranty
I purchased a Saito .72 in april. It ran great for 4 months until one day it broke the connector from the piston to the crankshaft. Called HH, and they suggested i replace it myself.
I did.. purchased the part, and replaced it. Took the engine back out and it fired up fine and ran for a few hours, BAM.. same thing..
Sent the engine back to HH, and they told me that it was my fault for rebuilding it 'incorrectly', and that it would cost over $200 to repair. i complained and told that i wanted to speak to a supervisor over it.. Next day I got a call from a manager saying that they cant hold up the warranty when it was my fault for rebuilding it 'incorrectly'. After some discussion they offered to sell me a new engine at cost, $120 with shipping.
My beef is they recommended that I repair it myself, and then refused to offer warranty repair after the same issue, happened a second time.
I took the $120 replacement, but I'm not sure how I feel about it

I have had nothing but very good relations with Horizon and Saito. When I break a Saito, I send it in.
Frequently, the repair is warranted, even on a couple years old motor.
On one .56, everything -but- the prop nut was replaced free!
Hitec is similarly good on repairs/replacements.
