Default Airtronics Receiver Compatibility with Futaba

Hi,

I picked up a crashed fuse at a garage sale that has an Airtronics 92765 6ch dual conversion FM narrow band 72 MHz reciever (channel 12) and some Airtronics servos. My question is - if I replace the crystal to match my Futaba 72 MHz transmitter (channel 60) will the two work together?

Thanks guys Huck

Not at all. The Futaba equipment works on a negative shift and the Airtronics are a postive shift. The two will not work together at all.

The older Airtronics servos have the + and - wires reversed in the plug too. They will work once the wires are sorted(easy to do). The newer ones have Z at the end of the model number and dont need changing.

Thanks guys, I realized the wires didn't match so I knew I would have to switch them arround. I wasn't sure about the signal encoding. I will just substitue a Futaba receiver after I switch the wires on the servos. Anyone need an Airtronics receiver?

Thanks again.

You are not only going to have to switch the wires, you're going to have to shave the connectors as they are thicker than the Futaba. Make it easy on yourself and go to MPI Maxx and get adapters. They sell adapters to convert old Airtronics to Futaba, Hitec, JR. I did this when I got some old Airtronics servos that were just the size I needed.

actually I have some Futaba blank connectors I bought a while ago. I'll just pop out the pins and re-insert them in the blanks.
